The Cobra 148 GTL is one of only a few CB radios equipped with sideband. Sideband allows the 40 channels above and below the standard 40 CB channels. The 148 GTL is a larger size radio than a normal CB radio so if tight spaces are an issue, you may want to find another place for mounting. Dynamike is a Cobra exclusive feature that boosts your microphone for increased voice clarity. The Cobra 148 GTL also has tone lock, which allows fine tuning of your audio levels.
The Cobra 148 GTL CB radio offers Cobra quality and classic styling, as well as sideband! Sideband refers to extra channels above and below the CB set of frequencies. When a lot of interference is on the standard 40 CB channels, just switch to sideband and get 80 channels much clearer, as well as the increased 12 watts of transmit power. The 148 GTL has a built-in SWR meter for easy tuning once your antenna is installed. For better audio clarity, the Cobra 148 has a 3 position tone control for fine tuning of your audio. The 148 also comes with the standard features such as Dynamike Boost, tactile controls, PA capability, RF Gain control and a switchable noise blanker.
The Cobra 148 GTL CB radio has a removeable 3 pin power plug which connects directly to your vehicle's battery (recommended). The box includes a mounting bracket and mounting knobs to install your 148 almost anywhere within reach. Running the power cord thru the firewall to the battery is the best way to power the 148 GTL but you can also purchase a cigarette lighter plug to easily plug into any 12V outlet in your vehicle.
